Artifacts

Anything an agent produces that someone will reference, edit, version or cite is an artifact.

Kinds

table, markdown, chart, record, link, file, sequence, document, mission, playbook.

Versions

Every save is a version, authored by an agent, a person or the system. Restoring writes a new version on top. Saves by the same person within 30 seconds merge into one version, and an edit made against an older version is refused rather than overwriting someone else's.

Sharing

An artifact is visible to me, the workspace (default) or anyone with the link (/share/a/<token>). Files are stored under VOCION_ARTIFACTS_DIR and served only through /api/artifacts/<id>/<file> — keep that directory private.

Linked to records

An artifact can belong to a record in a role (one per record and role), such as a deal's proposal. Saving one fires artifact.saved, which automations can listen to.

Where

/dashboard/artifacts, or beside a chat at /dashboard/chat/<id>?artifact=<id>. Agents use create_artifact, read_artifact and update_artifact; documents add render_document, edit_document, verify_document, red_team_document and export_document_pdf.
