Asks and approvals

When an agent needs a person, the request lands in Review (/dashboard/inbox; the old /dashboard/review redirects there). It is the only place anything is approved.

What shows up

KindWhat a person does
RecommendationApprove, decline or snooze an action an agent proposes (a proposal)
ApprovalApprove or reject a gated workflow or mission step
RulingDecide a question with consequences
ChoicePick one of the options an agent laid out
InputSupply information the agent can't get
CredentialConnect or supply a credential
MergeMerge a change (Software Factory)
GateResolve a hand-off gate that escalated
RunA run that needs attention
ExceptionSomething failed and needs a person
Suggested ruleAdopt or reject a rule learned from feedback

Each row says which agent is asking and why, with the recommended option pre-selected. With ?scope=all the queue spans every workspace you're in, your own items first.

Deciding

  • In the app. The decision sheet: Approve · Decline · Snooze · Save for later · Skip (keys a d s j k). An ask with no options offers Approve / Reject / Mark done; Other takes free text. A note on a reject feeds the learning loop.
  • In chat. Say what you decide; the decide_ask tool acts only on the person's own words.
  • By reply in Slack or by text. A reply in the thread where the card was raised decides that card. See Your assistant.
  • Over the API. POST /api/v1/asks/{id}/decide, or POST /api/v1/reviews/decide for proposals and gated runs. See REST API.
  • Over MCP. review_decide and ask_decide.

Deciding needs the approve capability. Every decision records who made it and when, and is scored on the alignment ledger against what the agent recommended.

Filing an ask

Agents file with file_ask (and withdraw with withdraw_ask). Integrations file with POST /api/v1/asks. Keep titles under 80 characters and bodies under 400.

Cards in chat

A decision can also appear inline in chat as a card: kinds action, decision, ask, record and link, with states proposed, filed, decided, deferred, expired and unfiled. A card's decision is the same decision as on Review.
