Goals and sprints

A goal is an outcome you own past one conversation. It is measured, never ticked, and the agent works toward it with you.

"Follow up with every Northwind Expo contact by November 30." "Activate the referral partners this quarter." A goal has a title, a horizon (a date or a quarter), an owner, a home workspace and a measure. It lists under Goals, shows in your morning brief, and the agent is told about it at the start of every turn.

A goal is never made silently

Say "make this a goal", or name an aim with no end in this conversation. The agent drafts it as a decision card. You approve it, edit it on the card first, or decline. Undo removes it.

Three ways to measure

MeasureWhat it isHow it moves
ViewA saved view plus what counts as done in it, or a target countCounted live each time it is read: "12 of 40 contacted"
MilestonesThree to seven steps, each optionally linked to the work that completes itA linked step is done when its work is: a record closed, a page written, a view emptied
SprintTwo to ten weekly targets, from a start date to the horizonLogged a week at a time on a scorecard

Whatever the measure, your own hand wins. A milestone you tick or a number you write is locked, and no agent moves it again.

Sprints

A sprint is a plan that runs on a weekly rhythm: "Sprint 2, Oct 26 to Jan 23: five daily touches, three discovery calls and one proposal a week."

  • The scorecard. Rows are the weekly targets, columns the latest six weeks. Each cell is the number logged that week: met, missed, or a dash where nobody logged it. A week nobody logged is a gap, never a miss. Click a cell to write your own number.
  • Progress reads like Week 3 of 13 · 7 of 10 weekly targets met.
  • The agent logs the week. Every number comes with the evidence it was counted from: the meetings, the sent threads, the records. It never changes a number you wrote, and asks you for what it can't count.
  • Re-plan the targets at any time. A target that keeps its name keeps its history.
  • Weekly review. A sprint with a weekly review is read in your Friday brief, with two next steps: log this week's numbers, and what would move the target you miss most.

Weeks start on Monday in the workspace's time zone.

Where goals live

A goal lives in one workspace and is scoped to it. From your Personal workspace, Your goals lists every goal you own across the workspaces you belong to, each labelled with where it lives.

For builders

The agent tools are goal_create, goal_update, goal_link, goal_progress and goal_list. A sprint is drafted with measure: { kind: "sprint", starts, targets: [{ label, per_week, unit? }] } and logged with goal_progress and values: [{ target, value, evidence }]. A mission can keep a sprint's scorecard by logging the week on its Friday run. The full guide is in vocion-core.
